From possible leakage to supported claims

Recovery Audit Services in Dubai

Find overpayments. Validate them before seeking recovery.

Dubai & UAE · Defined scope · Evidence-led reporting

A CLEAR STARTING POINT

What this service does.

A recovery audit reviews payment and supplier records for possible overpayments, missed credits and other recoverable discrepancies. A&A helps validate exceptions, assemble supporting evidence and track management-approved follow-up.

This is not ordinary debt collection. The starting point is a potential error in money already paid or credits not applied; a match in a spreadsheet is only a lead to investigate.

Recovery depends on evidence, contractual rights, counterparty response and other circumstances. No recovery percentage is guaranteed; legal collection and dispute proceedings are separate services.

DEFINE THE OUTPUT BEFORE THE WORK

What your engagement can include.

These outputs form a starting point for the proposal. The signed scope confirms coverage, reporting format, responsibilities and exclusions.

Exception register

Potential duplicates, pricing differences and unapplied credits, with false positives removed where evidence allows.

Claim evidence pack

Supporting invoices, contract terms, payment references and a calculation of the validated amount.

Recovery tracker

Separate statuses for identified, validated, claimed and actually recovered amounts, plus prevention actions.

FROM BRIEF TO HANDOVER

How the work moves forward.

  1. 01

    Agree the population

Define suppliers, payment periods, currencies and the data available for analysis.

  2. 02

    Identify exceptions

Compare payment and invoice references, supplier credits and relevant contract pricing.

  3. 03

    Validate each item

Check reversals, instalments, shared invoice numbers and other legitimate reasons for apparent duplicates.

  4. 04

    Track approved action

Management approves supplier contact and adjustments; record credits or cash only when confirmed.

ILLUSTRATIVE SCENARIO · NOT A CLIENT CASE STUDY

Two AED 12,000 entries are not always a duplicate

The situation
An analysis finds two supplier payments with similar references.
The approach
Check whether one was reversed, whether payments were agreed instalments and whether both settled the same invoice.
The useful outcome
Only a supported excess payment proceeds for management-approved follow-up. The example is illustrative, not a claim of client savings.

PREPARE ONCE. AVOID REPEATED REQUESTS.

What to have ready.

The final request list depends on the period, systems and agreed scope. Keep original records and identify the person responsible for explaining each data source.

  • 01Accounts payable ledger and payment exports
  • 02Supplier master data, invoices and credit notes
  • 03Contracts, pricing schedules and rebate terms
  • 04Bank evidence and supplier statements for reconciliation

SCOPE, TIMING & RESPONSIBILITY

No surprises at the handover.

Before work begins, agree the recipient, review period, access arrangements and reporting purpose. Fees depend on the complexity and completeness of the records, not simply the name of the service.

A&A’s agreed work

Plan the assignment, document the evidence reviewed, communicate gaps and deliver the outputs in the engagement letter.

Your management team

Provide complete authorised records, explain the business context, approve accounting or operational decisions and own corrective actions.

Specialists and independent sign-off

Where the brief requires a statutory opinion, regulated certification, legal advice or specialist evidence work, confirm the appropriately qualified provider and separate responsibilities before proceeding.

BEFORE YOU COMMISSION THE WORK

Questions worth asking.

Is recovery audit the same as collecting unpaid invoices?

No. Recovery audit typically examines overpayments, missed credits or payment errors. Collecting an undisputed customer debt is a different activity.

Do all duplicate-looking payments become claims?

No. Reversals, instalments and reused invoice numbers can create false positives. Validate source records and payment context before making a claim.

Do you guarantee recovery?

No. A supported discrepancy may still be disputed or unrecoverable. We distinguish potential, validated, claimed and recovered amounts.

Who contacts suppliers?

Agree this in the engagement. Management should approve the evidence and communication before any claim or adjustment is made.

What determines the fee and delivery time?

The number of entities, locations, systems, transactions and reporting requirements all affect the scope. We agree a proposal after reviewing the brief and record readiness. A fixed delivery promise cannot be made before that assessment.

How do we begin without sharing confidential records?

Send a high-level description of the requirement, entity type and deadline. Do not include passwords, identity documents or sensitive evidence in the enquiry form. We agree an authorised, secure exchange method before detailed records are shared.
